Don Giovanni reviews
Guanqun Yu’s Donna Anna projected a majesty that suggested the Countess in Figaro and demonstrated a choreographic grace at reacting physically to emotionally dramatic moments.
Bachtrack
Laurens Vittes
Anna, played by soprano Guanqun Yu, wept her sorrows in “Non mi dir, bell’idol mio.” Yu instilled a softness in the passionate aria that inspired sympathy from the audience. That sympathy soon turned to a clamor of praise as Yu sang the runs with utmost precision.
The Poly Post
On opening night, it was Yu’s performance that shone most brightly.
